It's that festive time of year again when the snow starts to fall and all the Christmas lights blind you as you pass the houses on the street. It's also that time of year when you have to start thinking about presents for your loved one's. With so many competition and new technology its always hard to shop for your family; thats why I have created this article - top 5 Best Board games! Everyone this year want's to get the new PlayStation 3 or the new Xbox but there is a raise in demand for the good old classic Board Games! This gives you and your family the perfect chance to get together and really connect with one another - instead of just mindlessly shooting the bad guy on the Nintendo Wii you can all get together and roll the dice. But there is one question that needs answering - what is the Best board game? Maybe you like to play the Chess or maybe you prefer to play a good game of Uno? Everyone has there personal favorites but this is my top 5:
1) Monopoly - At the top of the list its the all famous Monopoly! This is the biggest selling Board games in history and perfect if you all want to become millionaires. The aim of this game is to get as much money as possible. You have to travel across the Board which is a city covered with streets - the aim is to buy as much property as possible and make the most money of your opponents. Who ever losses all there money and goes bankrupt has to leave the game; the last man standing is the winner. A brilliant game for all the family and a must buy!
2) Life - A reproduction of real life played on a Board game! This is a brilliant game where you get to play through the typical stages of a lifetime. You have to go to school, get a job, get a girlfriend (if you want one) and children if you choose to - its all about choice in this game. As you travel around the Board you get closer to the end of you life (sounds quite scary!) The player with the most money at the end wins - a brilliant game to play on Christmas day!
3) Trivial Pursuit - Hows your general Knowledge? Welcome to Trivial Pursuit, the perfect Board game for the family that likes a bit of competition! The aim of the game is to travel around the Board whilst successfully answering questions along the way - the Brain Box of the group wins! There are so many variations of this game, each one having a different set of questions: There is a battle of the sex's,boys against girls, Trivial Pursuit Team where you choose your team and choose your questions and there's even a mobile version - either way its a brilliant game and a must buy if you like to pick your brain!
4) Snakes and ladders - Now we're going old school with this one! Everyone knows this game and I'm sure everyone has played it! The aim of the game is simple - get to the end of the Board game first; however it's not that easy! You roll the dice and the number you get dictates how many steps you take. Certain steps have obstacles: if you land on a step with a snake then you have to slide down its back and move further from the end - if you and on ladders then you skip some steps and move closer to the finish line! A family game based purely on chance!
5 Cluedo - Now welcome to Mr boddy's mansion! This is a game where you all become detectives - there has been a murder and it is you mission to find the killer of Mr Boddy! It's a race against time to find the murderer and the murder weapon - 9 rooms, 6 weapons and 6 suspects. Will you find the culprit? A brilliant game that is over 50 years old - this has truly lasted the test of time!
